21 Best FREE SEO Tools for On-Page Optimization

Image
Google’s official position on webmaster best practices really hasn’t changed much over the years. What has changed is the search engine’s ability to enforce these guidelines through improved algorithms. The implementation of Panda, Penguin, and Hummingbird has had a profound impact on the SEO landscape. Google’s Matt Cutts has remarked that no one should be surprised when a website that hasn’t followed the guidelines is penalized. What Cutts overlooks or chooses to ignore is something that I have dubbed the “ Google Paradox “. I suspect the Google paradox is the root cause for one black hat forum member expressing his desire to “punch Matt Cutts in the face” (per Cutts’ Pubcon 2013 keynote ). In order to reach the top of the SERPs and stay there in 2013 and beyond, your website must deserve to be there. It needs to be the best in class. It must offer the best user experience in that niche. Fortunately, there are a number of free tools that can help you achieve that goal

A JOBLESS MAN APPLIED FOR THE POSTION OF 'OFFICE BOY' AT MICROSOFT

Image
A jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy' at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him, then gave him a test: clean the floor. The man passed the test with flying colors. "You are hired," HR manager informed the applicant, "give me your e-mail address, and I'll send you the application for employment, as well as the date you should report for work. The man replied " I don't have a computer, or an email!" "I'm sorry," said the HR manager. "If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And we cannot hire persons who do not exist." The man was very disappointed. He didn't know what to do. He only had $10 with him. Once that is spent, he won't have any money to buy any food. He went to the supermarket and bought a crate of tomatoes with his $10. He went from door to door and sold the tomatoes in less than two hours. He doubled his money. He repeat

Did you know: How does Google's autocomplete feature work?

Image
As far as i am aware Google Autocomplete uses a combination of factors related to the last 10,000 searches, in your geographical location, your own bookmarks, most visited sites from your web history and the behavior/suggestions of your contacts to predict and reflect trends related to you personally provided that you are logged in or use a GPS enabled browser or mobile device. For example, if someone was typing the term Michael Jackson (musician) one week before his tragic death, Google Autocomplete would've probably suggested something like ( Michael Jackson (musician) top music downloads), while if you tried to search for his name 20 minutes after his death it would've hypothetically suggested something like ( Michael Jackson (musician) death latest news) due to the sudden change in search patterns related to this new topic/context, during that time frame and in relation to the breaking news. For clarity, the top five most searched overall are “Gmail”, “Craigslist”, “Amazon”, “Yahoo”, and.. “Porn”. None of those are included on this list – because a giant list of navigational brand search

How to Decrease Website Loading Speed?

Image
Here are 10 Ways to Speed Up Your Website – and Improve Conversion by 7% 10 things you can do to speed up your site 1. Minimize HTTP Requests According to Yahoo, 80% of a Web page’s load time is spent downloading the different pieces-parts of the page: images, stylesheets, scripts, Flash, etc. An HTTP request is made for each one of these elements, so the more on-page components, the longer it takes for the page to render. That being the case, the quickest way to improve site speed is to simplify your design.     Streamline the number of elements on your page.     Use CSS instead of images whenever possible.     Combine multiple style sheets into one.     Reduce scripts and put them at the bottom of the page. Always remember, when it comes to your website, leaner is better. Pro Tip: Start a campaign to reduce the number of components on each page. By doing this, you reduce the number of HTTP requests needed to make the page render—and you’ll significantly impr

Google Rollout Penguin 4.0 Completely

Image
If you haven't seen a Google Penguin recovery by now, you may still need to do some link cleanup. Google Penguin 4.0 is now fully rolled out. The Google Penguin real time algorithm which started rolling out on September 23, 2016, has now rolled out fully to all of Google’s data centers. Google’s Gary Illyes confirmed this on Twitter : @jenstar yes, eh — Gary Illyes (@methode) October 13, 2016 The recovery aspect of this new Penguin algorithm started a bit after September 23 — around September 28. Now that all data centers have the new code, those sites impacted by previous Google Penguin issues should have seen a recovery at some level if they took the necessary steps to clean up their links. As we covered early, Penguin looks at the link source for the most part — so if you still have very spammy links pointing to your site, clean it up. Those hit by any version of Penguin before — including Penguin 1.0 from April 24, 2012, through Penguin 3.0
