Google’s official position on webmaster best practices really hasn’t changed much over the years. What has changed is the search engine’s ability to enforce these guidelines through improved algorithms. The implementation of Panda, Penguin, and Hummingbird has had a profound impact on the SEO landscape. Google’s Matt Cutts has remarked that no one should be surprised when a website that hasn’t followed the guidelines is penalized. What Cutts overlooks or chooses to ignore is something that I have dubbed the “ Google Paradox “. I suspect the Google paradox is the root cause for one black hat forum member expressing his desire to “punch Matt Cutts in the face” (per Cutts’ Pubcon 2013 keynote ). In order to reach the top of the SERPs and stay there in 2013 and beyond, your website must deserve to be there. It needs to be the best in class. As far as i am aware Google Autocomplete uses a combination of factors related to the last 10,000 searches, in your geographical location, your own bookmarks, most visited sites from your web history and the behavior/suggestions of your contacts to predict and reflect trends related to you personally provided that you are logged in or use a GPS enabled browser or mobile device. For example, if someone was typing the term Michael Jackson (musician) one week before his tragic death, Google Autocomplete would've probably suggested something like ( Michael Jackson (musician) top music downloads), while if you tried to search for his name 20 minutes after his death it would've hypothetically suggested something like ( Michael Jackson (musician) death latest news) due to the sudden change in search patterns related to this new topic/context, during that time frame and in relation to the breaking news. What keywords on Google are searched the most? We know branded terms like “Gmail” and “Craigslist” are frequently searched, and are a common point of reference for users. But what about non-brands? What about  true  keywords that, undoubtedly, are the aim of many traffic-thirsty SEOs across the world? This was the question we wondered earlier this month.
